About the Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre
Founded by Eva Lucena, it’s current Artistic Director.
Alborada has been the premier Spanish Dance company in NJ since 1995.

Through dance, drama and music, Alborada’s passionate artistry reveals the many diverse and historical threads that comprise the multicultural fabric of Spanish culture. Both entertaining and educational, the variety of its repertoire runs the artistic gamut of Spanish Flamenco and traditional dances, to Hispanic, Celtic, Moorish cultural influences and beyond. As stated by Tammy LaGorce, New York Times, Alborada is “awhirl in drama and color!”

Also as stated by Neal Zoren, US1 News, March 20, 2024 “watch the wonderful dance troupe enlisted for La Boheme Opera Company’s production of CARMEN, the “Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre”, go through their colorful and exciting Flamenco moves. “while the Alborada dancers click their castanets and stomp uo a storm”.

Alborada is well known in the Tri-State area for its fully staged cross-cultural productions which are from 5-7 theatre productions per year.

For its approx 45 “Arts in education” assemblies in schools/colleges and universities in New Jersey and beyond per year.

For Flamenco performances with live music in Libraries, Museums and Corporate settings.
